Grains are the edible seeds of plants called cereals and it is the harvested seed of grasses such as rice, barley, and sorghum. Grains are among the most important staple foods in most countries. In many countries, there is only about one harvest a year. To feed the world’s population, most of the global production of barley, maize, wheat, rice, sorghum would be held in storage for periods varying from one month up to one year or more.

Grain storage occupies a crucial place in the economies of developed and developing countries in the world. Grains also helps to contribute to better livelihoods for rural people in many countries in the world, and foster the country’s social and economic development.
